When you step outside, there is not a double in anyone's mind that is definitely Summer here on the Treasure Coast. Here are a few tips to stay cool without sacrificing your summer.

1) Know the Risks

The heat can have a serious effect on your health. It's important to look out for signs of heatstroke and heat exhaustion. Heat exhaustion is caused when the body loses excess water, salt, and sugars through sweating. It can be treated by having plenty to drink, keeping out of the sun, and cooling down. Heatstroke occurs when the body's temperature becomes dangerously high and the body is no longer able to cool itself. Symptoms include confusion, headache, nausea, and muscle cramps.

2) Stay Hydrated

As you sweat throughout the day, replace the liquids you are losing to avoid dehydration. Avoid or limit caffeine and alcohol. A Family Fun 4th of July - Downtown Stuart Flagler Park in Stuart, FL

Parade at 10 am, Activities from 4 pm - 10 pm

Kick off the Day with the 4th of July Golf Cart Parade starting at 10 am. Then enjoy food trucks, kids activities and live music on the Riverwalk Stage with the family before the fireworks show at 9 pm.

4th of July Fun on the Farm - Happy Place Ranch in Palm City

Activities from 10 am - 2 pm

Celebrate the Red, White, and Blue on the Farm! Visits with goats, sheep, donkeys, emu, tortoise and many more farm friends. Pony rides, hay rides, and SO MUCH MORE!

Off MartinHhwy take 66th Ave south to the end then right on 42nd St ALL the way to the end.

4TH OF JULY PICNIC “UNDER THE BIG TENT” - Reborn Farm in Stuart

Activities from 11 am - 2 pm

Lunch “Under The Big Tent” with First Baptist Stuart, Family Fun, Games, Bounce House, Snow Cones and Cotton Candy.

Traditions 4th of July Celebration - Tradition Square in Port St. Lucie

Activities from 5 pm - 9 pm

Kick off your evening with live music featuring a Jason Aldean cover band. Children will love all the activities in the kids zone, and your taste buds will be in heaven with burgers and classic BBQ as you enjoy the fireworks spectacular.

FreedomFest - MidFlorida Credit Union in Port St. Lucie

Activities from 4 pm - 10:30 pm

This family event features cheer and dance performances, a hot dog eating contest, and a Best Dressed Patriot Contest. Finish off the night with a Van Halen Tribute Band and fireworks. You can upgrade your tickets here. The upgrade event features a BBQ Buffet and an interactive kids' zone with activities including fairy hair, face painting and tattoos. Guests will also enjoy unbeatable views of the fireworks display from exclusive, private seating on the terrace.
